Destroyed end-links C I 70’s bracelet

Ouch, I destroyed the end link of my C I 20mm 77 rivet bracelet. Tried to fold it to avoid the noises, now it’s dented. Sure it won’t be able to fix.

Since the endlink is attached to the bracelet, I’m not sure if it’s possible to replace.

For those reading, one can reduce that type of damage by using soft-jawed pliers or even just wrapping needle-nose pliers with electrical tape.

You can probably minimize the visual impact of the damage by refinishing the end link, if you want to spend some time on it. Sand it down until the dents are barely visible and then rebrush with scotchbrite. If you have a Dremel or grinding wheel, you can speed up the first part, just go slowly and don't overdo it.

Thank you Dan. I will bring it to my local workshop, hopefully they can get it right.

Ouch! It looks worse than it actually is and a pretty straight forward fix for someone who know what they are doing.

My local watchmaker tried to fix it. Much better now. Still I want it to be better, so the only option is to replace the end links or the total bracelet.

Can someone confirm if they’re the 65 end links? And if so, is there any online shop offering these?

C&I bracelets don't have numbered endlinks. You can look for a partial bracelet, I see them on eBay and other places occasionally.

Looks bob on now...no point in going further imho, as the C and I endlinks are a smidge imprecise...not quite high enough, tiny bit long and tad under width anyway...so, all is correct / in keeping !

I ordered a good condition replacement. So no dents and hopefully piece of mind. Will keep in mind that they’re not as perfect as the other bracelets and avoid trying to shape them.

Thanks

I think you must be extremely picky. I can barely see a difference. :-)

[But I'm glad you're happy!]

To anyone who sees this in the future, if you're going to make hollow end link adjustments please use a flat pliers instead of a needle nose pliers with serrations. I wrap one layer of masking tape on the flat nose pliers as well to make sure there is no scratching. Also, make adjustments with the end links not attached to case or you run the risk of scratching/denting the case or lugs.
