Dirty Lume on 16710
Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a 2003 16710 from a private seller. I noticed there was some grease or brownish line on the lume in the 5 o'clock index. The seller said it might be oxidation but from what I know is the luminova is pretty stable. So I just wondering is this normal? Any thought on how this happened, maybe bad Rolex QC or bad overhual job? |

No it isn't normal but it happens. Could be the result of several issues. Looks like something got on it or touched it that had no business being there.

I love your GMT, even with this tiny issue on the lume.
Beautiful watch |

Op, very nice piece , I can’t see anything? Barely, that little mark. So it’s very minimal.
I would not replace the dial on it, unless it gets worse or it really bothers you. Factory original only once. This is a beautiful neo vintage watch, you would say it’s patina or life history. Enjoy it, is what I would do. Cheers, |

Change a dial/ hands on a old watch for this minor blemish ?
Does not make sense to me. You could probably have bought a new one if you go this route.

That's so insignificant I doubt I'd even notice if I was the owner. Definitely not worth fixing/replacing in any way.

Looks like it was scratched during a service.
