New Cherry-Coloured Voutilainen KV20i Reversed in Titanium

https://monochrome-watches.com/intro...t-specs-price/

I'm tempted to change my Vingt-8 order to this cherry reverse. The earlier blue one was nice but this cherry version has guilloche behind which is a nice touch, and it is a Voutilainen signature. The degree of hand-finishing is higher than Vingt-8.

On the flip side, it is way thicker (maybe 13+) than the Vingt-8 but I handled it during IAMWATCH and didn't find it an issue. The case is still 39mm. I do prefer the behind view and don't mind if Kari flip it back. This one is more pricey at CHF 124,800 probably due to the higher level of finishing and hours spent.

It's subjective but this one appeals to me, very badly. I like hand-finishing and this watch offers much more than my existing order. I spent way too much time handling this watch.

Ok this is pretty funny. I was having almost the exact same thought. I’m only one year into my …. I’m assuming 7 more year wait on my Vingt-8 and was wondering to myself if I should/could change it to a kv20i. Or at least keep the same execution of the cherry red but with another color. But then I keep on going back to what I loved about the Vingt-8 and I still want one. Then I think about, hey why not do both? But I just don’t have the money for two of them. Plus I’m still holding out hope for another watch. It would also help if the price was lower cause then I could make a really stupid decision.

Did you happen to ask what the waitlist is on the kv20i if you start an order from scratch?

Also I forgot if you mentioned it elsewhere but what did you choose for your Vingt-8?

I haven't asked Kari yet but they are quite flexible, so I think a change is possible. I'm not aware if the cherry Reverse is going to be limited though.

The pros of the Vingt-8 are the beautiful guilloche dial and the thinner case.

The pros of the cherry Reverse are the higher degree of hand-finishing and the guilloche behind.

Tough decision ahead.

That’s good to heard about the flexibility on maybe changing the order.

Yea it’s definitely a hard choice. But fun too.

I'm leaning Vingt-8 60%. The dial colour I chose for the Vingt-8 will be unique in my collection and the cherry Reverse with the red strap can be too much at times. But the finishing is "more" in the Reverse and I think I will enjoy it more. I will ask Kari a few other questions later.

100% agreed

It's wonderful to see truly exceptional parts creation and decoration craftsmanship. Must admit, horology has come a long way since the long outdated 1960s Trinity marketing campaign. Surely we can all agree, it is time to bury the 60+ years old 1960s 'Trinity' marketing campaign and find a new term to properly recognize the many possibilities we see today in 2024 and beyond.

There are actually other limited edition versions of Inverse coming. But all of them are spoken for already.

I get why it’s done but part of me gets annoyed when watches are already allocated and sold out when they are announced. I like to dream for a little bit lol. Still, I can’t wait to see what they look like.

There are no limited editions really since you can order whatever you want custom? I had a tantalum one on order previously that was outside of the limited run done. I think “limited” with any independent is a bit of a joke given you can always order one custom with a slighhhhtttt tweak.

I guess you are right in the sense that you can order bespoke. But there were many limited edition runs of KV which a certain configuration was produced in X number. The latest example was the Tourbillon and the World Timer. Even the first Inverse 28Ti had a limited edition run when it was first announced. These "pre-configured" limited runs shorten the 7-8 years wait to almost nil.

As for the limited editions I am referring to, they are limited run ordered by AD(s) in specific configuration(s) before this recent announcement. (2+ years ago) If all goes well, we should see at least one of them being delivered next year. Fingers crossed here.

Most of Voutilainen's watches are not limited, but you need reasonable good health and patience, lots of
