I'd also chose the Day Date. I try to be practical when it comes to my choices and while I have some redundancy in my collection (several Submariners), I think adding a Day Date makes the most sense. You lack a dressier watch and already have a GMT complication.

I am of the opinion that you should always add a precious metal Day Date or dress watch from another brand before adding a precious metal sports watch. That's just me.

I completely agree that the RG CHNR is probably the best precious metal sports watch Rolex makes. To that end, I would also echo others here who have recommended getting something other than WG in the Day Date. That said, if you're thinking about adding a blue dial, the white goal Day Date would be the way to go.

Given your options: DD, 100x out of 100. You could also combine your two ideas & get a RG DD...

Really nice trio to start with. Add a DD40, but do yellow or rose gold for variety. Then add an Explorer II as a wonderful “beater” (don’t know if that’s appropriately named, but you get what I mean by it). Perfect 5 watch collection.

This one is an aspirational piece. Not sure how long I will need to be waiting but a great suggestion

I got it used and didn’t wait and didn’t pay a premium- if I did it was very small
