Kaws x AP RO Concept tourb

In case y'all haven't heard. There is a new drop from AP. Reference Number: 26656TI.GG.D019VE.01

The giant Kaws figure is on the roof of AP building.

I think they did a great job. I bet it looks awesome on the wrist and I enjoy the movement and fun factor.

I like the back and the overall ‘fit’ of this 43 mm concept. I don’t know who kaws is and after seeing this I have no interest in finding out.

Interesting to see that none of the new concepts have the AP logo or Audemars Piguet words on the dial.

Not needed. If you don’t know a Royal Oak when you see one across the room, you likely don’t know the AP name either if you see it.

Ok soooooo

I love the hilarious play on HANDs. Big static Mickey Mouse hands but NO time hands lol. That’s playful and a hidden humorous take on time.

Now someone mentioned about the chin on the head and the head itself. They can’t help but see balls or a nut sack. Like a butt and I can’t unsee it now ughhhh

Love the color way and bezel X bolts that’s a nice touch.

I think Kaw is a musician and if so the hands working as a chime would have been super cool

loving the case profile, hopefully, we see more 43mm concepts with this case in the future.

The more you look at it, how it sits and looks on the wrist, the more it grows on you over time.

This is almost the equivalent of RM 52 Skull/Musk Tourbillon series

This piece is definitely a controversial.
So many watch nerds hate it while tons of non-watch enthusiasts (with big cash) love it. I kinda like the way AP put this KAWS on the concept model for the new technical exploration or new movement. I actually can't wear this huge cool piece but still love to see craftsmanship and something exciting rather than boring design in this industry.

As I said in other thread I find it the best among character concept watches. Way better than the Marvels...

At 200k chf, considering APRP new movement and case finish it is bargain if we look at the RM prices from same watchmakers...

What I would like to know is artist expression of the Companion. We know that he is pressed into the glass... So why he choose it to be presented like he was pressed from behind or wants to escape from the watch?

A very fun piece of course. However why is it so bulky? Are all Concepts large?

Looks nice on the wrist... with all the angles and construction the new 43 concept case is bulky and tall, but with the back curve it is the best concept case for small wrists... they did not achive RM level of ergonomy yet but still a nice effort..

Im not really into Kaws. This is an interesting release for sure. With them exploring movement options with the hands this time. But $200k CHF goes a long way with other watches.

Not a musician. KAWS is an artist & sculptural artist. I think this character on the AP is called “companion”.

I agree. I think it’s a beautiful piece and very well executed. Just for example, the companions, hands and the screws. Best Collab concept IMO

All of this by the way, and I’m not even a fan of Kaws
