Server Status 09-07-2009
Guys, for the past 3 days we have been under a DDOS attack by someone named 'error' on this site, he posted here with his demands and we will not oblige him. This guy has a large arsenal of computers which even as we speak are attacking this server. Thankfully my firewall has been upgraded and it thwarting the attack, however, when I notice MORE IP's that are attacking, I have to RELOAD the firewall which takes it down for a moment and then all his machines have open access... this is why the connections are spotty right now. I apologize there is nothing I can do to prevent that. I think I have blocked most of his arsenal so essentially we have won
In blocking lots of ranges of IP's some legitimate IP's maybe blocked. If you can NOT connect from a location please PM me the IP address that you believe is blocked - www.whatismyip.com will give you your PUBLIC IP address. Please bear with us while we sort this out, this guy will not win and I think the worst is over now. Is there anyway a mod or admin can post this where it maybe seen? There are many different threads regarding this issue... I think a dedicated 'server status' thread would be appropriate from now going forward so all these type issues can be in the same spot. |

I was wandreing what had happened, as for days I was not able to connect to the site.
All I was getting was being redirected to a google search engine. I have hopefully overcome this by finding a former thread and coming in through that and then re saving the home page to my favourites.

I´m glad to see that our loved Forum is in good health and working again!!
I was deeply concern during several days trying to enter in the Forum to read posts from fellow Rolex lovers with no luck, and thought the worst. Being almost nil about these kind of problems, I thank your efforts to resolve this and have our Forum running again! Let´s keep enjoying Rolex Forums and our waches! Best cordial regards, Abel

I've only recently been able to gain access to the site after a period of nearly two weeks. I learnt from a fellow member that the site was down & the reason why. I scanned my computer & found two trojans.
I have a firewall (comodo) so would urge all my fellow TRF colleague's to scan for any nasties. Thanks for the update on what happened.

I'm very confident you didn't get trojans from this website.
There has been no compromise of accounts, only a denial of service by the overloading of the server with bogus requests to load a page.
