Didn't think I'd like it...
Earlier this week I was talked into buying something I'd always hated. I intended to keep it in the safe believing there'd be a profit one day.
I have to admit I really love this watch having had it on my wrist since monday. It really goes against the grain for me being a steel sports watch kinda guy. Anyone else out there love quartz? |

I love digital quartz,I have a lot of them, but I was so close to buy an Oysterquartz myself few months ago. Eventually ended up with a 14060,but it's a GREAT watch the one you have. I love the way it ticks.

No one makes a quartz like ROLEX does
Look at how beautifully balanced that bracelet and case meld together... and if you have seen some of the close-up pics here on the forum, the detail is just outstanding!

I have the exact same one...
My only TT Rolex and the best TT to have I think as it best represents the time/style of the OQ at its prime. I love it, its a fun piece... I want a SS one and I also want a President (wood dial) someday. I had fun with my friend the other day... He thinks he is a watch know it all but he does not know much at all... Anyway we were out and I said "Hey I just got this and I know you are quite a watch guy I was wondering what you thought of it" he looked at it and handed it back to me telling me how I was a fool and that was the worst fake he had ever seen, case and bracelet are wrong, a Rolex should sweep not tick, and even worse the idiots put "Quartz" right on the dial. He told me he really felt bad for me...... Later that night I sent him an Email to the OysterQuartz website and wrote a nice note explaining we all need to learn and open our minds a little better as he has insulted a few too many people being a know it all... I was nice in the Email and hopefully he will take my advice. not tick

Fantastic Kenny.Welcome to OQ club, when i bought my first one a few years ago, i thought at first, "boy is this thing kinda wrong for rolex",however i could really tell the quality was there, and i've been very happy with th OQ for years. So far I've owned one of every colour and configuration, but my absolute favourite is the 17000 silver batton dial, next to the blue dial jubilee.Congrats and enjoy.

Nice-looking watches!
I've never seen one running - do they "tick" one second at a time like a regular quartz watch? Thanks, d. |

Thanks guys for all the comments. I didn't realise OQ's were held in such high esteem, but after nearly a week with mine I can see why. I'm already putting feelers out for a SS one. And, yes, they DO tick a second at a time like a regular quartz, pretty loud too!

Yes, they tick but unlike most quartz they do it with Rolex pride and are extremely accurate. My 17000 is about a second a month fast.
