Few Hours With The Grandson.

Well the weather here in darkest Wales the past few weeks have been bloody awful.Well a break in the clouds spent just 3 hours with Marcus fishing.Again he caught the largest fish a 17lb 8oz Carp with a total mixed bag of well over 80LBs.Now if Marcus hair get any longer will have to start to call him Shirley. But he is a great lad and will do anything for his Granddad. He has just started in a rock band had there first public gig at a local pub.And if I say so myself for a lad of 16 shows quite some flair and style on the guitar both electric and classical. All fish were returned to fight another day except a Pike of around 10lb which we ate for lunch.

It seems like you always have a good time with Marcus. Hopefully he knows how lucky he is to have his grandfather around and is able to do things with him.

Yes Paulie and must admit in some ways I am closer to my Grandsons than my sons. Now this could be the age difference,I am not sure but both my grandsons will do anything for me.In-fact if they have a problem they come to me first to try and sort it out.

That's great to have a relationship like that with them. Maybe you feel closer to them because you don't have to discipline them I know my father has more patience with my nephews than he had with me. Of course it's been said that age and grandchildren will mellow you out.

Now on that you could be right Paulie, but if I ever hear them cheek their mother and father if I am there. All I got to do is just give them a look now think they respect me more that my Son,but myself blame him for that.My father was always strict with me,but always fair and had many a good hidings off him.But I always deserved it, and it never done me any harm, and I never came back for seconds.Respect today is sadly lacking in a lot of youngsters of today, they really have a very easy life in todays world.
