DeNiro's watch in Casino: Rolex King Midas?

We only see glimpses of the watch throughout the movie? However, from those glances it looks like he may be wearing the King Midas. Could possibly be a vintage Piaget, not 100% sure. Anyone else know for certain?

not sure. But I love spotting Rolexes in movies. From Brad Pitt's GMT C in 'Ocean's 13' to Matthew McConaughey's Submariner in 'Ghost of Girlfriend's Past', Rolexes can't seem to be able to stay away from the Hollywood limelight! :-)

Yup. I just watched Swordfish again last night (awesome movie if you haven't seen it) and while Travolta's eccentric wardrobe screams "mid-90s fashion victim" the Submariner on his wrist is timeless.

HAHAAHA I watched it too on HBO at 12am last night!! HAAA and noticed the same thing!! At first I thought it was a GMT, but then noticed the long diver's clasp and knew right away it has to be a Sub.

Not any I've seen or heard of Eduardo.

If you're thinking the watch Scaramanga wore in "The man with the golden gun" it wasn't a Midas either.

No I don't, but it was an ugly square watch with a mesh bracelet if i remember right.

I have a picture of it somewhere.

How is the King related to rarity?? It looks like it is one of the hardest ones to ever get and you never see much talk about it in the forum.. You see DRSD, Red Subs, etc. But never a King. Where are the other 998 Kings, the only ones I have seen are from Leo from Bocaland and Elvis from Graceland.. Both Kings

Possibly because it was made in a limited series and a long time ago?

I've owned 2 in my lifetime. The previous was #864 that I regrettably sold some 20 years ago.

If you're interested in the King Midas history you can read all about it here: http://rolexblog.blogspot.com/2008/0...x-king_26.html
