I'm always a little nervous about traveling with it, does anyone have any opinions about traveling to Russia with one? I'm going to Saint Petersburg and Moscow... I am not the one to venture off the beaten path and plan on staying in well-lit areas...

Also, I read something about having to register things you bring into Russia that value over $3k, does this mean I should register my Rolex?

anyways, thanks a lot!

I never "register" watches and I just visited Japan and Thailand; no issues at all, not even a glance !
I did however register with the State Department, cause its just that kinda world we live in !

A puzzlement. I bought my watches (both SS) to wear them. I don't want to be foolish, but I guess I would think twice about wearing them in certain places.

I personally have not had any issues travelling with expensive watch/watches but, I have heard horror stories about Paris. Apparently, all my friends have either been robbed or lost something or the other in Paris, not FRANCE - just Paris! Call it coincidence.....

I cant say I would be worried about taking mine anywhere, it is insured. The unfortunate thing about being mugged is that you have no idea how desperate someone is and you'll be surprised what someone would do even for a £20 Casio. At the end of the day, they're probably aiming for your wallet and will have no idea how much the watch is worth anyway.

I don't worry worry about the watch, I worry more about my own personal safety. Dress down and don't flash money about and you should be fine.

So far, in my little over a year of Rolex ownership, I have found that my Rolex watches are barely noticed. When I wear my larger racy design pieces, I get looks and comments. I do sometimes find people glancing at my wrist, possibly trying to figure out if I am in fact wearing a Rolex or a look alike.

I am not really sure if I would want to wear mine out of the country but, I also have been in some not so great areas right here in the states with my Rolex on. I guess you should just stay away from financially depressed areas.
