TRF'ing at 35,000 feet - Happy New Year from a WIS in the Air

I am liking this wireless in the air. Guess it's becoming more widespread.

In case anyone was worried, I survived my time with the in-laws with no "Hey that watch looks expensive / fake / how much? " comments. I had stockpiled the recommended TRF responses for situations like these.

Was able to put my GMTII to it's proper Pan Am (OK, Air Tran ) use by setting my hour hand ahead (only 2 h ours, but hey!) for the first time. Looking forward to more exotic destinations in 2010 (OK, for some Milwaukee may be exotic) to really go to town and use 2+ time zones.

Best wishes to all for the coming year, and hoping everyone experiences peace, prosperity and of course new things from Basel to keep up the spirited discussions & debate as we "unbox" a new decade...

A ham sandwich - courtesy of my mother-in-law. They don't serve "food" any longer on many US flights.

I've got some ham left over from the holidays that I'm sure security would confiscate. It's so hard you could use it as a weapon!

Happy New Year !!

I heard that the airlines are not letting you get up at all in the last hour of flight? Also no bags under seats or on lap? Pretty soon we will have to check our watches before boarding...

nice looking coke you got there!

as far as flying into Wash Dulles/National airports, you can't get out of your seat the last 30mins.. This has been the norm/rule since 9/11. supposedly all flights arriving/departing from these airports have air marshals on them. I'm sure they will step it up for all airports?? not just Dulles/National

It was surviving the inlaws I was most concerned about, Bill! Glad to hear you had a good trip. GMT's are cool, aren't they?

Safe landing, good news.

I was going to say that the chap behind you in the pic looked to be "chucking up" into a sick bag.

Great pic of the GMT.

Thanks Paul...

The flight did get quite shaky so the bloke behind me could indeed have been "tossing his cookies" as we say on this side of the pond.

Cheers!

I wish Air Canada would hurry up and put Wifi on every flight up here. How much do they charge you for it?

Whats next? no wifi! Or maybe no watches as you can use them as a weapon. I just flew to Cabo and got a meal both ways.

$12.95 US... I know, spendy, but I figure it was the price of two magazines at the newstand. Virgin was giving it away for free as a December promo on my XMAS flight.
