The lengths I go to...............
...............to get you tossers bird pictures.
I was traveling down a muddy track when I decided it was too flooded to carry on so I reversed. Unfortunately my front end slid and my front wheel ended up in a ditch. Fortunately, help was at hand and one of the farm hands pulled me out with his tractor. He did not want a reward but I insisted and he probably got a couple of days pay.

Wow! Hope the vehicle is OK (and you too, of course). Thanks for the extra effort to secure some of your fabulous bird photos, Adrian, if that's what you were actually doing. You MIGHT have been just looking for a place to take a whiz or something...
At least you got some good photos of the situation.

Adrian,
I'm glad you got out OK, but I'm a little surprised the Land Cruiser couldn't haul itself out. Did you try 4 wheel low, or lock the rear differential? The LC is a beast, but perhaps the muck was the tougher one that day |

Good pics, Adrian, but as Langnam says that baby should have been able to haul itself out in all wheel drive.

The tyres were full of mud and just would not grip. More pictures to follow, I can only load 3 at a time to the hosting site.
PS I was in low 4 and diff lock but to no avail.

The pictures here are with a Nikon D200 and Nikon 18 - 200mm VR zoom. The bird pictures on the other thread are with a Nikon D2Xs with Nikon 300mm 2.8VR lens and a Nikon X2 converter. They have of course had a bit of Photoshop magic added, like a touch of sharpness, but that's all.

Adrian,
Here's one LC that didn't need a tow in the muck and the next one might need a liitle help. I own a '97 LandCruiser, do a little offroading and would never part with mine. Toyota makes quite the dependable beast! The last photo is a picture of my truck from a couple of years ago. |
