The problem with trying this on at an AD is that without a properly sized bracelet, you can't really appreciate how comfortable it is. When I got this home, removedd a couple links and wearing it out today, there is NO reason this can't be a daily wearer. The size is not even noticable if you are used to wearing modern larger watches.
Very well said Congrats and welcome to the club! DavidSW does good again!

That's what I've been talkin 'bout for almost 2 years now as a daily DSSD wearer. No way it would be on my wrist this long if it wasn't an extremely comfortable watch - Period.

Like Zirotti stated, the key to wearing the DSSD is to have it snug on your wrist so it doesn't flop.
I think Promethus is referring to the taper/width of the band. I can understand where he's coming from as I had the same reaction the first time I witnessed the DSSD in the flesh. At first I thought it didn't quite look right, but after a few hours of wear the proportion of the head to bracelet taper became a distant thought...and in less than a few days of constant wear I actually fell in love w/ the look. Now I think it actually makes the watch look somewhat elegant (if that makes sense) and gives it a more universal use.

While I believe a larger width might have looked alright, I'm actually very glad Rolex didn't do it. After wearing the watch for so long, I believe the taper makes the watch more suitable for everyday wear. If it would have been wider, I believe the watch would become too cumbersome and heavy-looking. The watch already has SIGNIFICANT presence due to its thickness...adding even more size via a wider band would have been overkill IMO.

Interestingly enough, now when I look at my Omega SMP Chrono (which has zero taper), a watch that I wore everyday for almost 5 years, I actually think it looks kind of silly with the wide bracelet all the way to the clasp.

So...what I'm getting at is the fact that if you're on the fence about the DSSD due to the bracelet I can honestly attest to the fact that it will more than likely become a non-issue in very short order if you purchase...you'll probably fall in love w/ it just like I did.

Hope you'll love it, looks great! Totally agree with the need to have the bracelet fitted properly. I initially declined one as the watch didn't feel right, and I'm sure the AD wouldn't have altered the bracelet just to make sure I liked it, just in case I didn't proceed with the sale.

The thought of the watch never, after that point, left my mind and I'm sure there are many others out there feeling totally the same.

I think more and more people have the pang to explore the DSSD further, it's like an itch.

AD's could do with a demonstrator that they can alter the strap before you pull the trigger!

Subsequently bought one late last year and haven't looked back. Excellent choice.

You mean the DSSD has "surfaced"? Landed are for planes, surfaced are for deep diving vessels....

LOL!

I truly enjoyed your images and it looks at home on your wrist. Congrats and wear it in good health!

Welcome to the DEEPSEA club.

Mine has been my daily watch for a few months now. My GMTII has gone into hiding and the others aren't talking to me.

I've only had it for a day or so, but I'll tell you what - it may be a keeper. Just something about it. I can't keep my eyes off it.
