Any opinions or thoughts on the new maxi dial and larger hands, such as the SUB LV and GMT II TT has?

I think they're something whose time as come.

Any watch whose basis is that of a tool watch concept benefits by the enhanced readability of the maxi in adverse conditions.

Got to agree with Mike on this,but the maxi dials are not something new, quite a few of the vintage sports Rolex had maxi dials too.

Luminosity and readability are improved with the Maxi dial. It was a great addition to the LV Sub!

While I have had the pleasure of owning a maxi dial watch, I still prefer the standard hands and markers.....more gold and less blobs!!

did the vintage watches look maxi, because they didn't have the surrounds that later models had, so their lume markers had larger footprints?

i.e. when rolex decided to surround the lumes with WG, did they actually try to keep the overall marker dimension the same, making the lume sections smaller?

I doubt that my Rolex and I will ever be in adverse conditions, so I have to say that I like the less cluttered look of the standard dial.
