1999 model TT blue sub compared to 2000 and above TT blue sub, whats the difference??

Whats the difference between a 99 model TT Blue sub compared to a more recent one??? other than the continuous gold in the bracelet and the no holes on the side, thanks guys

There are solid end links (SEL) on the newer Subs. Plus there is more gold, I believe in the newer subs, as well as the blue on the dial is much more brilliant.

Not much really, Jowie. I own a 1998 edition, and have seen a newer one and placed it side-by-side, and cannot tell any difference.

And you might want to correct the spelling of Tallahassee in your "Location" info (sorry - I live in St. Augustine and I'm an educator - double trouble!)...

Jowie,
If I had to choose between the two, I would give them both a lengthy visual inspection, and check the service records just to make sure they have been properly cared for.

they're both in great condition as its my father who owns them, so its just all about choosing between a newer SS or a older TT..

Well then, it sounds like you can't go wrong either way.

Post 2002 has an etching of the Rolex crown at the 6 o'clock position on the crystal.

pre 99 models have swiss-t<25 ... are you basing their years on their serial numbers or dates of purchase?

I beg to differ in regards to the blue of the dial and bezel (that might have more to do with condition than it's age)... here's a W series... 1994-5? Bracelet says late 94 if I'm deciphering it correctly. The blue looks alive and well.

Even these pics don't begin to do it justice. My advice to you is to wear them both and choose the one you enjoy more. If you're not a "gold" watch guy.. the ss is definitely less apt to scratch and scuff as the softer center links of the tt... If you like the flash... go for the tt blue.

In 1994, when I had the option between a TT Blue and a TT BLACK Sub, I opted for the BLACK because the BLUE looked pretty awful.

Today, the BLUE has been vastly improved....for sure!!!

I would say go for the TT Blue if you have the option between the two. They'll both hold up the same over the years.
