Visiting NYC for the first time...
Going to be in New York City on sunday for the first time. Any recommended watch dealers to visit? Looking to view some Iwc, Panerai and of course Rolex. Vintage/used would be cool too.
Thanks guys! Andy

You should pay a visit to Diamond District. 47th St, btw 5th and 6th Ave.
Enjoy your trip. Cheers, PS |

Grab your saltshaker....
...and head on down to the Tourneau Time Machine on 57th:
http://www.tourneau.com/Tourneau/Mai...meMachine.aspx ...This is not a recommendation, as you will need every grain of salt to withstand a rather shabby experience. If you've been around here for a while, you'll know Tourneau are kind of the high pressure/low knowledge vendor in this business. ...BUT... Lotsa brands under that one roof.... You'll have to google them, but don't forget that several major brands also have flagships in NYC too..Omega, AP, etc....I believe there is also a dedicated tourbillon boutique downtown. Happy hunting! --Paul

It's none of my business and I am no travel agent but I beg you - don't spend too much time watch window shopping in NYC. I know we are all enthusists and I love seeing Rolex dealers when I travel BUT, this is your first trip to New York City and there are literally 1,000's of things to see. Most of these are "only in NY" experiences that you can't see or duplicate in other cities in the world. Enjoy some watches but I suggest that you don't regret your time in NY because you were watch shopping, unless of course you are looking to add to your collection. I only say this because you can buy watches almost anywhere - often without leaving your house, just sitting at your computer. Either way, enjoy!!!! Here is a glimpse of something you won't see in a Watch Store :-)

Wempe is loaded with the sweetest collection of watches--from Rolex-to Patek-to Vacheron--they have all of the hottest watches there--looking in the window alone will cause excess drooling -so bring a hanky!!
I was there this past Tuesday--they were very nice--let me try on a bunch even though I told them I was just looking and not buying--really nice Austrian lady--can not remember name. Enjoy!

PS---Walking down and checking out 5th Ave. is not a waste of time when in NYC--very much worth the time! You will be very close to Central Park and it is a great neighborhood to take in when there!

Kenjo, Tourneau, Wempe, Cartier, Bulgari, Omega, Tiffany, They are all very close to each other. My favorite it Wempe for Rolex. Tourneau is something to see as they carry so many brands. I have always been treated very well in that particular location.

Tourbillion Is on Wall St and the store is amazing. Eye candy galore. Across from that store is anotherhigh end watch boutique. There is also a Rolex store on West Broadway about 100 feet from the corner of Broadway and Wall St.

On the watch front certainly it is the diamond district and I believe Panerai just opened a flagship store. |

Wempe on 5th and 55th St. is nice shop to visit + I find the staff to be very friendly and professional.
They have a nice collection of Rolex plus other brands like Panerai, Breitling, IWC, Hublot etc. Have a great time in NYC! Cheers, Joe

Watch shopping in NYC is never a good experience. Don't expect large discounts, and in half of the stores the salespeople are just plain rude.

One unique NYC watch store is the Aaron Faber Gallery. They have a very interesting collection of pre-owned watches, with emphasis on Rolex and Patek Philippe. It's right off 5th Avenue, on West 53rd Street. A stroll down 5th Ave on Sunday is a quintessential New York experience. I hope you enjoy your stay.
