Thanks Paul, that is what I thought, also the dial seems to be printed "swiss made". Any idea what's going on here? I haven't payed anything and I'm fixing to ask question to the seller.
Thanks again, Mike |

I have owned a few of these from the early 50's and on, to me dial looks good, case looks good but I have 2 points. If early 50's I would have thought it would have the butterfly rotor. Case back may have been swapped at some point in its life.
But I got burnt this week, so I am no expert.. If it was at the right price, I would buy it.

I have it from the seller that the watch is a '67 model, I don't think any deception was intended. The dial is marked "swiss made" is this correct for the period or a redial. I consider this piece to be a "fixer upper".

...mmmmmmmm...
...my ref mat shows 5500 using 1520/1530 mvmt.
...also, the rotor pictured is CORRECT for the 1520, as shown in my R-5 cat. ...IF a 1530 mvmt was used, you would be correct in that the rotor should be the butterfly rotor! ...hope this helps. |
