BBQ, beer and a Tudor Ranger

I put in a low offer for this and won it, but as stated in title, the BBQ is lit I have done lots of research.. please tell me it looks good, I am sure its correct case reference and I think the dial looks ok..

I live in Coin, 36km's inland from Marbella. It is as hot as h**l and right now at 11.15pm its 28 degrees on the patio and pool is a nice refreshing 31 degrees, things could be so much worse!!

If it is indeed a 100% original Ranger and not a franken then you got one hell of a deal. Have you received it yet?

Not even paid for it yet, but I have got a good feeling. There are a lot of duds around, but this seems to tick all the boxes.

Just be careful , I do not think it is a "Ranger" it should be written on the dial : This seems however an authentic Tudor . Before you pay .. send a PM to Stan ( Tudorman ) or maybe John ( Springer) if they do not chime in by tomorrow .

I know Coin . I use to live in Marbella ( La Heredia on the Ronda road ) and later just above Nerja in the mountains .

Well, that watch has arrived, maybe I am being paranoid, but I have had Tudors of this vintage before and this one does not feel quite right.

The dial does not look original, the markers and numbers are flat and just look like they have been printed on the dial, no evidence of the old tritium, hands look old and aged.

This is the original link for ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_3009wt_911

These are fotos that I have taken.

the caseback engraving looks light. the model number is centered. the back of the lugs dont show evidence of there ever being endlinks attached. sorry but i would not be happy either. Harry

Yes caseback and lack of lug marks really made me think as well.

on my other Rolex/Tudor the model/serial engravings are aways a bit off centre. I also would expect to see "registered design"

i know that some 9050s may be legit, but i think that unless its in your hand with a loupe, you are taking a chance. you may as well just go to a casino with that kind of gamble. its just not worth it.

frankly, look at the dial. its so clean. 35 year old watches are usually well-worn. the seller knew this and likely this is why he sold it.

...oh...oh...RETURN the watch IMMEDIATELY...

...das FAULKER case!!

...NOTICE the centered serial number AND centered model number-consistent with fakes.

...NOTICE the lack of STAINLESS STEEL above the serial number.

...file a claim IMMEDIATELY to get a refund.

...sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

...also sorry for not being around much the past week. I have been busy working on bands and a watch. Mailed the watch and band out today, but have a family reunion this weekend nd will most likely not be around again for a few more days...mercy sakes.

The important thing is that I have learned a lesson and BIG THANKS to everyone here.

Yes, I paid by PayPal, but I sent the seller a private email first. He agreed a full refund and the PayPal cogs are turning.

Good that you can reverse it. buying on ebay can be fun. but buying such a prolific fake through the mail is a big risk. harry

tudor ranger info

hi ian and fellow members,

tudor rangers can be very tricky to identify and authenticate. we do have a genuine example in janice's collection. ours is not for sale, however if anyone needs good pics of it for comparison purposes to a ranger you are considering, feel free to email us at janice_fredn@yahoo.com
