I have no problem with changing a rolex as long s it can be easily reversed and put back to original condition.

IMO
Nato straps, clear casebacks, bezel insert changes, bracelet and clasp chages etc are all good.

Grinding off crown guards, brushing out PCL's, DLC's, etc are not good.

Personally I'm a purist I like to see my watches in the specification they left the factory (I dont mind a nato strap on some models so long as I have the original bracelet too). However that doesn't mean I want everyone to be like me - I do enjoy seeing watches that have been modified, and I must admit some (not all) do look fantastic

I'm a "purist", I guess, only because there's no change to my Explorer II that I've seen posted on this site that I would want to do to my watch. For my DJ, I wouldn't mind changing all the gold elements to something else, but, it was a gift from many years ago, so, no can do. Maybe I'll grow into it one day....

Well as for all watches they have lugs that fix straps, bracelets,NATO's or even a bit of string.Its used to hold the watch head secure on wrist thats the only purpose.Now when you buy a Rolex watch bought with your own money,then IMHO you should be allowed to do what you want with your watch.And as long as you use Rolex parts,and those parts don't interfere with the running, or normal service of the watch.Then who are Rolex to dictate what you can, and what you cannot do, to your bought and paid for watch.
