President Clasps?

I have seen two discinct clasps on watches listed as President DayDate watches. Is one real and another fake or are there two different clasps? I ahve two pictures that I have taken from TRF but wont post them until asked specifically.

The design has changed significantly over the years, more than once.

what is the most current? There is one that looks and feels a lot less "secure". I have seen/ felt one with a bar-type connection and another with a simple friction-type hook, the latter feeling less secure.

Sorry- I cant get my pictures to post but here are two other examples here in TRF:

The secure feeling clasp: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=158837
The loose feeling clasp: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=158271

I know the second one is a DayDate II but I have seen the same clasp on other DayDate models. Personaly, I like the first one better; it feels more secure.

Here are pictures of two of the different style clasps used on Day-Dates. The first picture is the older style and the second is the new style clasp used currently. The changeover took place around 2003.

thank you very much- that helps me know that the local retailer that is selling one of the older clasp watches has been sitting on it for a while.
