That's gold Jerry, gold!

Hi all,

I wanted to share my latest acquisition with everyone. It may not be everyone's cup of tea (a gold tool watch), but I really like it. It's funny, I've never liked gold in the past, but lately I've really warmed to the yellow metal. Maybe it's an age thing. Anyway, I think it's fair to say I've been bitten by the gold bug!

The watch is a 1680/8 from the early 70s. Although I'd call this a "bluesy," the dial color really depends upon the ambient light and the angle at which you view it. In lower light conditions, the dial and bezel appear black. In natural light, the dial is bright blue. In artificial light, the dial can range anywhere from a deep plum to a lighter magenta. Many watches all in one!

Cheers!

Love it ! Beauty of a nipple dial. Nice Seinfeld/Bania reference. LOL " Soup's not a meal, Jerry."

Hello Rex Racer!
Congrats on your new timepiece. It´s a glorious watch!
It´s has been a long time since I´m looking after a vintage piece like yours, nipple indexes, and blue or black dial, and full gold case & straps. Very rare to come by down here!! I´m sure I´ll find one someday anyway.
This and a vintage 1675 full gold are my grail watches.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy this most beautiful watch in good health pal!
Kind regards, Abel.

My favorite watch by far man. Nipples + plastic + colour change dial on a 1680 is about as good as it gets.
