Need help identifying a possible Rolex

I found a watch and need help determining of it is a Rolex. It is a "presentation" watch from the Republic of China to an American Admiral. It is from the Republic of China, NOT the "People's" Republic so I'm guessing it is just post WWII. I believe it is stainless. On the face where the Rolex name should be just under the 12 are four stars in a row. Just above the 6 is the wording for the dedication to the Admiral. The is nothing on the watch or bracelet that says Rolex but the bezel ring looks like that on a Rolex and you need a tool to unscrew the back. Engraved on the back is simply an 8 pointed star. Is anyone familiar with a watch like this or know how I can determine if it is a Rolex.
Any help is appreciated.

Well . If it doesn't say Rolex anywhere on the watch ..chances are that it isn't a Rolex . Screwed on case backs "rolex" style are fairly common . Even most Rolex counterfeits have them .
If the winding crown doesn't show the Rolex coronet nor a swiss cross and "patented"on it , I would say : NOT ROLEX .
Try to unscrew the case back and see what you find in there .

Doesn't sound like a Rolex. If there were 5 stars I would have said Longines Five Star Admiral.

Any chance of posting pix?

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!
