I took my new submariners bracelet to pieces and I noticed that the double ended spring loaded pin is not fixed or a part of the clasp but comes out and could get lost. Is this correct or should it be fixed into position??

That's the way they are. They really fly when one end jumps out while you're putting the bracelet back on!

HI Bo,

While adjusting my GMT bracelet yesteday, I saw one of those pins go past. Rolex pins are faster than most.

Yep, those pins can fly off if given the chance. Once they're in, they won't come loose. If you are trying to change the micro adjustment, just make sure you are working on a clear workspace and if you can shield the top so that if it does fly, it will hit the limited ceiling that you've created.

Alternatively, ask someone to put cup their hand over the bracelet when you're working on moving or adjusting the clasp.

You tossers must have "butter fingers". Never ever had a spring bar fly-off from my hands in 27 years of bracelet changing!!
