It's Here!

My first Rolex arrived yesterday

The SS sub is truely a thing of beauty I'd seen one at the jewelers, but noe i have one its even nicer! I cant stop looking at it!

I wound it manually and set the time using the notes on the site. Very helpful!

I also synchronised it to gmt last ninght at 9.00pm and will see how accurate it is tonight.

I'm hope to get some pics up when I get some and figure out how to!

Thanks for all your help in the decision process, you've been a great help

You guys know your stuff! and any advice would be gratefully recieved.

I'm trying to find the best place to get a submariner in the uk. Here in Nottingham, there's only one supplier, and he's quoting silly supply times.

Any advice on best place to buy?

I'm off to Vancouver in a few weeks, would it be better t buy their, or am i dillusioned?

Thanks in advance for your advice :)

Thanks guys!

Hopefully get some pics at weekend.

+3 secs in first 24 hours, which is not too bad i think.

Still can't stop looking at it though!

canada looks expensive compared to the uk :( £3700 in canada to £2840 in uk.
Thats not a like for like comparison, I think that new SS GMT is more than the Sub in the UK, best to see if you can find out how the list price of the Sub compares in Canada to UK before you decide.

Did Toronto last year, great city, so i'm sure Vancouver will be just as nice.

I'm staying at the delta suites, close to the places you mentioned. i'm open to recommendations as to what to do while there. I've heard about some tree top cable place not far, sounds fun!

Apparantly there is a huge fireworks display while I'm there (30 july for 11 days)

Oh Yes, the festival of light on English bay, it is truly spectacular. They anchor barges out in the bay and launch fireworks from them. it is an international competion and is hugely popular!
The cablecar ride is Grouse mountain it is just across the water from me(I live in coal harbour right on the waterfront) it is well worth doing especially if you do dinner up there, the sunsets are awsome!
If you are into Shakespear they have the summer long festival bard on the beach which is fun!
I would really reccomend one of the float plane trips, especially Baxter aviation part of west coast air. they do some amazing flights to remote lakes, just make sure you ask to fly the beaver, it is a part of canadian history!

PM me at let me know what sort of things you like to do and want to see and I will do my best to give you the info.
PS you are staying at a really great place it is so central and right in the heart of the downtown core
All the best.
Ian
