Help needed please!!!!

Hi guys, am just after a little help and advice please. I took my 10 year old Submariner 14060 to my jeweller as the crown was making a ratcheting noise. He sent the watch away to his repair man (rolex approved). The watch was away for a couple of weeks and returned with the pearl missing from the bezel insert. I picked up on this straight away and he returned the watch feeling slightly embaressed at what had happened. A few weeks later I picked the watch up from the jeweller and this time was handed my watch with a brand new bezel insert and a pearl that didn't illuminate. Basically he had inserted a non Rolex bezel insert. I was very annoyed and told the jeweller to sort out this problem, place my original bezel insert back into the watch and order me a new pearl from Rolex.
Please keep with me on this one I am nearly their. Anyway I have just had a conversation with him on the phone as the watch has been with him for a further 3 weeks. He told me that he cannot fit a bezel pearl into my original bezel insert so he has ordered a complete new one from Rolex UK.
Do you guys think what he is telling me is legit or would you be able to insert a pearl (hope this is the correct term) into my existing bezel insert. Also would the value of my watch alter with having new parts inserted to my 10 year old watch. Plus do you think I should ask for my original bezel insert returning to me? As you can see I really don't know what to do. I have only had the watch 12 months and at the moment feel like asking him for a refund.

It is my understanding that the easiest way to go is to replace the whole insert, I doubt that Rolex would sell the pearl by itself. I agree on having original parts; a new insert is not that expensive and replacement can be done in seconds (some members here do this themselves). If it bothers you to have a missing pearl (it would bother me), just get a new original insert. My 2 cents here....

Well a complete new bezel insert for a Sub is around £26-£30 and they will fit it while you wait if they have one in stock at the RSC St James Square London.And it will make no difference to the value of your watch just by fitting a insert.

I would say that not too much. 10 years is still 'young' to be considered vintage, and as prices of new ones are not that high, most people would purchase a new one (or at least is what I would do)

Go with the new insert. I don't think it will change value based on a new insert. Sorry it took so long for what seemed like a simple repair.

Really surprised to hear this - I assume we are not talking about an AD here. as far as I am aware, ADs send watches back to Switzerland from the UK for repair - at least they have on the 3 or so warranty repairs on a few of my watches.

Absolutely disgraceful service!

Not good! But the bezel would be the least of my worries... If they used a non Rolex part on the outside, what the Hell did they use on the inside? Gulp....
