Insight into the world of replicas
Don't know if I'm allowed to post this coz on another site it would probably get me banned. However this site gives good insight as to whats in the world of Replicas.
http://www.replicacenter.com/replica_frame.htm This link does not sell replicas, but is an advice centre on people considering buying a replica. The testamonials I thought were quite amusing. Have a look at the customers photo gallery, quality pictures..... I still find it amazing that people spend stupid money on a piece of garbage, just to have the label. They must have totally the wrong concept of Rolex in my opinion.

I'm replying to myself here, however I have just trolled through the message board on the site, laugh the problems these guys are having and yet they persist and continue to buy the items. What made me laugh was one guy said he paid $800 never got his "swiss grade one replica" when he phoned them they told him to @@@???*** off.
He ended the post by saying, don't bother with this firm they are simply criminals Plus I bet you did'nt know that genuine Rolex Watches have 31 Jewel ETA movements, I heard on the grapevine that Nicolas Hayek had purchased a large share in Rolex SA

Hmm - those who make and sell illegal copies of Rolexes are criminals? Who woulda thunk it?

Perhaps they can point me to a nice bridge in Arizona that is for sale, with an ocean view of course.
I really have a problem with this whole market, from the fact that they are crooks, to the wearers that try so hard to pass them off as real.

I totally agree with you, their is a darker sinister side to the replica world, i.e what the cash you pay for a replica goes towards funding etc.
At the end of the day the people buying them are devaluing themselves, I'd much rather wear a genuine seiko or casio than a replica anything, I also have maintained that philosophy with DVD's and software, I refuse to own or watch or use pirated material....

Hey Jon,
Good post!! Remember, you should never have to find yourself feeling guilty about such kind of posts.....after all, you aren't exactly promoting fakes......just posting eye-openers like the one above. Thanks - JJ

I read through some of those testimonials and find it incredible that people will actually tout their fakes. These are obviously poor souls who would rather impress other people than enjoy fine craftsmanship. They must have no feelings of self worth except what their possessions give them. What a shame.

I've said it before, I'll say it again....I'd rather be wearing a genuine fifty dollar Timex than a fake Rolex.
I simply hate it when a guy knowingly wears a fake Rolex and then has the audacity to gloat over it with his pet peeve statement: Why spend so much on the real thing when you can get a good look alike for one-twentieth the cost?

I have never understood the "fake thing" Rolex or otherwise. I would rather wear a $50.00 Timex and drive a Pinto than fake the Rolex thing and own a kit car...pretending to own a Rolex and one of these tessy.jpg. What's the point?
