Quick Price Check Help Please
On the way to an AD where I have sourced a NIB 16610LV.
Can someone tell me what these originally retailed for? never thought i would even CONSIDER this watch...but i like the specs (maxidial, older bracelet and proporitions, less redundant than an evenutal no date modern or vintage)... i figure i will see what the green looks like at least in person - off for a 2 hour drive! someone talk me into/out of this!!! |

well, i havent quite warmed to the new case and the proportions with the bracelet...i KNOW its a 'better' watch...it just doesnt sing to me like the older style case and bracelet...
i love the no date look...but i am pretty sure, at some point, that im going to want a date variant sub too. so, although i would prefer not to get the date model first (all things being equal) i am very tempted to get this...both to wear it but also im guessing that later on down the road i will be happy to have the Anniversary in my collection... what do you guys think?? |

Here is a link to the history of Rolex Prices through the years. The LV started at $4875 and went to $6400 before it was discontinued.

I say grab it, its a great watch. The best thing about it is if you tire of the green insert you can source a black one from a 16610 quite easily and it will be a totally different look and you keep the maxi dial

i know i prefer the 'older' case. i actually prefer the weight of the old bracelet (would prefer the new clasp but can live without it). i like the cyclops better on the maxidial (somehow seems to blend in better to my eye thaa standard 16610). so, really the only hesitation on it is in the green. my inclination is to live with it for a while since it is already starting to grow on me...BUT if worse came to worse and i wanted to switch to black - well, its a nice safety net as i make the decision. i also am a sucker for these types of things - but i really like the fact that it is sort of a collectible and not quite as 'ordinary'. ill get 'ordinary' with my modern or vintage no date when the time comes so, leaning heavily toward doing it. it might be the perfect mix of classic amd modern for me as the first rolex sub. |

I would get a new one because of the new braclet and ceramic bezel. IMO those are 2 major upgrades over the older model. I didn't realize how much I prefer the newer model until I tried one on.

Slow, but never too late. Here's another.
The Green kinda grows on you.

yeah, it does look better on the wrist...but the lugs and taper into the bracelet are just killing it for me...at least for now

another great pic. i know there were some subtle different shades of green in the run, but the coloring of yours in the pic looks very close to the one i am considering. the sales guy had a 2004 one and it was a little warmer green...almost had hints of gold in it
