Icon9 Did i buy a genuine rolex??

Hello all,

Could someone help me please..
I recently bought a Submariner watch for my hubby and i wanted some help identifying its authenticity.
The watch has the following..

[*]Hologran back sticker with the model number 16233.[*]On the inside of the watch face rim it has the number engraved F872143 and ROLEX repeated after it.[*]It has the Rolex crown hologram directly above the 6 o'cklock on the glass.
[*]When i had the band opened there is no serial number between the lugs but i have read that in the case of Oysterquartz models, [*]the Case Reference Number is located on the back side of the case lugs and my end lug does have embossed a small rolex crown followed by CL 72200 then another rolex crown.
[*]Also, it has the black o ring on the wind up.

I hope this is enough information for everyone and i hope someone can help.

Thank you all so much

Ok .... You are not going to like this but .... The numbers 16233 are the reference numbers for a two tone datejust and not a submariner .... You would not be able to see the etched ceown on the crystal very well with the naked eye .... Sounds to me like you should go to a rolex dealer and have this watch checked .... Where did you buy this watch? Can you locate the person who sold it to you? .... I have a bad feeling about this one

No question that if everything on that watch is as you say it is then you have a very poor fake.

Pics required! I know you are posting all of this, but we need pics of everything.

I would never buy any Rolex unless it was from an AD or a Trusted seller on this forum!

Too many fakes abound!!!

One take away from this is-- If you can see the etched coronet in the crystal with the naked eye it is a fake.

I glanced over at a guy wearing a Daytona in a dimly lit bar once. The etching was visible from an arms length away. My first thought was, fake...

Well OP took the news of his watch being a fake very lightly. Also note the acurate watch terminology when describing the watch. I often wonder how many counterfeiters use this forum for research purposes and to test their fugazzies.

I can see the etched Rolex crown on the crystals of my Rolexes unaided, i.e. with the naked eye. I can assure you they are not fakes.

fake one had one like it before

That sounds like I swiss replica that I bought back in 2004 or so. Paid $1000 for it and knew it was a fake when I bought it. it had 16233 on the hologram. When I got into trouble in 2005 when I got raided by the cops, I told them that that was a fake watch. They took it and they brought it back and they said it was a good fake. I ended up getting a loan for it at a pawn shop for $1000 after they screwed me over on my other real jewelry they got from me. But the hologram one really gave that fake away, it looks really nice though I had to admit but never felt comfortable about wearing it since I knew it was fake.

There is no such thing as a good fake, a fake anything is a fake period and anyone paying $1000 for a known fake must be sixpence short of a shilling in my book.
