New member from Oklahoma
Hello guys! Little about me, 43 yr old, workd for the Department of Veterans Affairs in the education section..15yrs in the US Army, got hurt and had to get out ( I Loved being in the Army) 90% disabled and have a 11yr old son.
I have really never been a watch nut, my dad has but it never really took on till a few months ago. A friend had a Breitling Superocean Professional that didnt work so I traded him a 2 yr old Ipod for it. It is at the Breitling factory getting a total overhaul......cant wait to get it back! I bought my 1st high end (what I call high end) watch when I was stationed in Germany at the PX in Frankfurt. I bought a cheap (expensive back then) $750.00 Rolex. When I came home from Germany in 1990 I gave it to my dad and he has had it ever since then and only wore it out a cpl times. Now, I have the watch bug! My 11yr old son somehow got the watch bug last year and I bought him a G shock watch....this year he wanted a Luminox so for his 11th birthday he recieved one of them and couldnt be happier. he said he wants to collect watches, and he has been very responsible with the watches he has so we may just dive off into that. Me and him collect old US Coins..we have about 30 old gold US Coins...and about 2300 silver dollars to name a few. To be fair, I have been collecting coins since my early teens and I have had a nice collection (to me) for quite some time. So, just here to see whats going on, and would like to buy a few watches. I am however looking to buy a stainless steel, white faced Rolex Daytona...now granted, I am not a bazillionair so I have to be very picky and wait for the best deal I can get. I wish I could just jump at the first offer that came my way but I have to be realistic. So, thanks for having me and I hope to learn a lot while being a member here Thanks Shawn |
