American Living in Far Eastern Russia
My wife is looking for a special 45th birthday gift in May. I gave her several options and she has decided on a luxury watch. Initially, she liked Tag Heuer Carrera, but later suggested Rolex Ladies' DateJust.
I own a Tag Heuer Kirium that I bought from a wholesaler in 1997. I have worked with my wife to explain the differences between new and unused with some of the associated considerations. She has her heart set on the new Ladies' DateJust Steel and Yellow Gold model with Oyster bracelet. There aren't any options for this watch other than new and the price tag is out of easy reach. I've asked her to look at lower priced (and older) DateJust models. When I look at bracelets, they appear comparable. I could buy aftermarket diamond bezel or diamonds for the face. She is not intending to sell the watch. I have ten weeks before the birthday, but my location would require me to purchase several weeks in advance from an American dealer and have a friend carry the watch back here or I have access to a stopover in Singapore before her birthday. |

Welcome to TRF.
If you post your question in the general Rolex section you would stand to get more responses. I personally wouldn't buy after market parts for a Rolex. If the one your looking for is hard to find, I would either wait and save, or find one on the used markett she would go for.
