Hello from Malaysia
Hi everyone! I'm suppose to buy my first Rolex on my 30th birthday 2 days ago but have yet to own one because I'm unable to make up my choice on which 1 to get. I did quite a lot of research on a few models that I like, and I end up with 3 options that I can get in Malaysia within my budget.
1) A 1997 Sea Dweller 16600 ( with box and papers - I have no idea what's in the original box, so even if its not complete I wouldn't know) for RM17k 2) A 1999 Submariner 16613 ( no box or papers - I am not sure how to check whether its 100% authentic or not ) for RM18k 3) A DLC coated Submariner 16610 which the owner bought online from TimeandGems for RM15k (I personally like this for its uniqueness but I've read a couple of negative reviews on that shop that they do lousy coating and the horological cert they provide is fake) 4) A new 14060M from Rolex AD for rm19k Can anyone help me out? Thank you! |

Welcome aboard! I recommend you go to the AD and buy from them if you have any doubt about then authenticity of the used ones you mentioned. Better safe than sorry. Another option is buy from one of the trusted sellers in this forum. Happy hunting!

Welcome to TRF.
Buy the seller. Make sure your getting what your paying for. Option 4 makes the most sense to me given the initial information you have presented.

Thanks everyone for the kind advice. I found a pre owned"Y" series 14060M non cosc in malaysia watch forum. The seller has a watch shop and issued a receipt for me (and gave me 1 year warranty) together with the rolex year 2005 dated cert but without the box. There's a minor 2mm scratch at the side of the crystal, minor wear and tear. The bracelet I would rate it 85% tight?comes with 10 links with minor swirls which is ok coz I have small wrist.Actually I like the simple dial and the clean look without the cyclops. Most importantly the price is rm12.7k which fits my budget. I asked for a nato strap and he gave it to me for free which n I immediately put it in and walla! This is how it looks like now!
