Do you guys know anything about new bracelets?
Hi there! My wife just got a brand new Datejust (SS, WG bezel, oyster) and I was shocked to see that her bracelet and clasp are solid and also sturdier than the one I have on both my Sub and Explorer (even with SEL). Do you guys know if Rolex is planning to do an 'all solid' oyster for men's watches in the near future?
Saludos and thank you for your comments. |

As for the other popular sports models, we shall have to just wait and see. I was a wee bit disappointed to see hollow centre gold links on my newly introduced (April 2005) TT YM, and as long as the sports range is selling, I don't see Rolex being in too much of a hurry to pack in solid centre links. Never ceases to amaze me with their logic..I guess it will never make sense, one would think that all new models would have gone solid in construction...was the price of the TT model less or more than the SS/Plat? and how much more...oh well they will always keep me guessing. |

Yes, the TT YM was introduced only in March of this year. I got mine in June, a D-series and the blue dial which I got was the very first one to enter my AD's shop, followed the very next day by a white, grey and champagne dial ones. I naturally opted for the BLUE which stood out head and shoulders above the rest. The TT YM is on list price just $350 more than the SS/Pt. version...so it's just a matter of personal preference...I do love TT watches!! Now as to why they did not introduce the TT YM with solid centre links....well, my only guess is 'cause it would then overide the TT Sub which is also a hot seller for Rolex. But my logic could be wrong! JJ

What would be nice is for the wizards of Rolex to offer a nicely priced genuine solid link replacement bracelet that could be retrofitted to older models. A way of appreciating long term product users who wear a Rolex every day.
When your original bracelet gets the wobbles or when you examine a fine used piece that has the same wobbles, it would be nice to have a genuine bracelet that is modern in construction and will last. I would not like to have to put an aftermarket bracelet (not strap mind you) on a Rolex, the bracelet makes up so much of the Rolex appeal it would be painful to have to resort to such. |
