Would a 16613 Serti need a new dial after 2 years?

Input needed.. Im looking to purchase a Y serial (2002) 16613 serti that was purchased in the summer of 2009 from an AD as the papers show. The seller has about a year left on the rolex warrenty from a serives that was done 7/11/11. On looking at the "Retail Summary" of the service it states the following:
Factory Movt Service- pres prf, bzl insert & tube: 555.00
Refinish Case and bracelet: 0
Dial-Steel, 8dia 3 saphrs y/g set 1725.00
Winding Crown monobloc: 120.00
Pair of hands-Y/G lumi: 54.00
Second hand-Y/G lumi: 27.00
My question is why would someone get a new dial after buying in 2009? Here is the paperwork! thanks

Could have been a dial color change?

looks like he added the diamond dial at service, it probably did not have one when it was originally made

Isnt there a silver color and champagne color. Maybe he swapped out dial colors. Not even sure if you can do that, just throwing it out there.

Kind of strange. If the watch was bought new in May of 2009 and serviced with the dial replacement in July of 2011, then if something was inherently wrong with the dial the owner missed getting it fixed under warranty by only a month or two. So it sounds like either something happened that wouldn't be covered under warranty or some defect showed up unluckily right after the warranty expired.

There's not a lot of reason to get a 2 year old watch serviced so it would appear the dial change was the reason it went in to RSC.

Also, consider a Y serial is a case stamp from circa 2002 so the watch could possibly have been sitting somewhere for 7 years before it was sold.

Have you asked the seller for an explanation?

Paperwork states diamond bezel set not dial, not sure if that makes a difference.

Little misleading on the paperwork. It says dial: slate with bezel set diamonds so I guess you're right. So where are the bezel diamonds?

I didn't ask yet. As for the potential color change the original paperwork says slate color which it is.

But wouldn't bezel set mean they're round set round in the dial like a bezel surrounding the diamonds?

I think bezel set means serti dial because its under the dial description on the original paperwork.

Yes, the owner will know and is the one to ask instead of feeding us one bit at a time.

This is a mystery, paperwork definitely says serti and you state it's the same colour ? No reason usually to change it usually I have no idea on this one, the original owner must know something. We can all speculate but we are just guessing.

Then ask the "someone" on here that sold it?

Since Avant Gold closed it's doors you can't ask them either but if you PM'd DeeGee then maybe you could get your answer.

Wow, the dial must have deteriorated rather quickly because I'd think if it was at least noticeable even two months earlier the owner would have had it fixed under warranty.

from Rolex in NYC: Because if the dial discolors and new hands are not put on you will be able to tell they don't match up colorwise. I do agree its a lot of $$ to get it serviced.

Also bear in mind the dial was changed after NINE years.

2002 production - 2011 service. 9 years.
