Icon20 German DIVE watch...

Can any of you members here chime in on the quality and reputation of a German watch company which has been in business since 1925 called Laco or Laco Lacher? I have read up on the history of this company, but now I need to know if this is a brand worth having in my small and modest stable.

Here are a few different photos collected online of the piece I am looking at, a Laco "Squad Watch" (Note - It's available in both Raw and a PVD coating. The leather band pictured is NOT stock).

It's stainless steel, 46mm case w/ a sapphire crystal, and an ETA Automatic 2824 movement good down to 200 meters.

Thanks!

Laco have been around (on & off) for a long time... one of the original flieger watch manufacturers

I like the bezel of the Squad watch - I guess it would make a good beater watch - but I much prefer their flieger watches

I like the bezel as well, and this will be worn when I prefer not to beat up my (incoming and on order) EXP II. I read on Wikipedia the movement was a "workhorse" (I assume all other things being equal, with the $$ invested).

nothing wrong with eta 2824, solid movement present in most of the automatic watches in the world ( I assume)

I've owned a Laco b-uhr navigator watch and the quality is fine. Laco was one of the 5 companies which made navigational watches for bomber crews. However, these were 55mm tools and not worn unless on mission. They were worn strapped to the upper arm and not the wrist.
