For some further information on the Ref. No. 6036, see
http://www.ukwatches.com/RolexD.html on James K. Dowling's site. For me, that could be the nearly perfect Rolex. The only thing it would need to make it perfect would be a 24 hour hand a la the GMT-II.

Hey Ed: If you got to Antiquorum and run a search "Rolex 6036" you will get some great pics and auction results. They are very very expensive. I think the Rolex Chronographs of the 1940's-1960's are the absolute greatest.
And BTW I DO NOT own the watches in the post. IT IS NOT my collection, although I wish it were. I like to collect digital images of the wide variety of Rolex from the earliest to the present. I know, its strange but the craftsmanship and variety of the dials appeals to my eye. Hey... at least my watches arent having sexually charged battles with one another. |
