I don't have any Rolex shots so I hope I'm allowed to post these Panerai pics instead.

My very good friend, Torsten, had 3 of the 4 Pre-Vendome models that Panerai manufactured during its 'reincarnation' in 1993.

First pic is of the 5218-203/A on my wrist. This is the forerunner of the PAM04A and a LOT rarer! It was a truly beautiful watch and I was very lucky to even try it on!

Next watch on my wrist is the Mare Nostrum - 5218-301/A on blue sharkskin strap.

.....and the last pic has nothing to do with me! It's a gratuitous babe pic of Italian actress Anna Falchi wearing a Panerai :)

Thanks Ralph!! Let me go OT for just a quick second, it is normal for this place anyways. I am glad that you and LMhave jumped into the fray and started posting away. As you can tell, we welcome into the family with open arms. There are no inner circles here, we are all here to hand out together.

Just wanted to tell you how awesome it is to see you in the fold, make yourself comfy and keep on posting.

Let me echo Daren on this one. It's great to have newer people become regulars here. It adds to the mix and makes this place that much more fun and interesting. So keep on posting regularly guys.

Daren, I gotta say, the more I see pics of your PAM, the more I like it. Next time I'm in my AD, I may have to try it on if they have one lying around.

It is a beautiful watch Ed, although it is on the winder today in favor of the UN.

Like the first three, Mike.

The strap just doesn't do it for me, though.

WTF! You preach about Connery and Bond, yet you don't like his watch?

A. I never noticed Connery's watch. That was long before I knew there were any watches other than Casios.

B. It's that particular strap that doesn't do it for me. I am a fan of straps in general, but they've got to look right. It puts me in mind of putting a 5 caret flawless diamond in a Crackerjack ring setting.

Nah, it is a tool strap for a tool watch. It is a military thing my man. I am not a fan of NATO straps, but they have their place with watches like a 5513, MHO.
