Recommendations for a former Rolex wearer?

I'm just learning about Breitling's and to be honest, I've seen them in stores and never took a second look at them, primarily because they looked huge and enormous. What are some models that are not so huge and weigh a ton? I've recenlty sold two submariners and I'm looking for something a little more original that every Tom, Dick and Harry isn't wearing. Any recommendations? I'm not a huge, huge, guy, med athletic build, Hence I hear all the former NFL players, TV sportscasters are all big Breitling fans, ..Thanks

You can't go wrong with a in-house Navitimer.

Hi Sydney, Breitling at times get a bad rap for its penchant for producing large watches and wrongly or rightly for it's association with professional athletes ie. NFL players like you mentioned. They do offer a wide range of models and I can suggest you a few that not every Tom, Dick, and Harry have. First is their very iconic Navitimer 01 model which is housed in a 43mm case with their own manufacture movement. Another model that is very elegant and housed in a 43 mm case is their Transocean line. Another model that is smaller in diameter is the Galactic line which range from 32 mm to 41 mm.

Maybe you should check them out in the flesh at your AD. Good luck.

IMO if youre trying to get away from what a lot of people are wearing, you could do far greater then breitling... Take a look at glashute, grand seiko, jlc, zenith and perhaps something from nomos. All can be found in the same price range as a breitling. But if you're really thinking breitling, either a vintage navi or the new 01 navi are classic

Completely agree. Breitling is not the way to go for something you've described.

The Navitimer is an iconic watch and well worth owning. It's a large watch (though not so much by today's standards). It truly is an instrument.

I also like the Transocean line. I bought the 38mm version and am happy with it:

I know it sounds strange, but have you considered a Ulysses Nardin? I see them from time to time and I absolutely love them. Not a lot of people have them. I'm all about having things that not a lot of people have, something unique, etc. I see Breitlings all the time, very accessible brand...

This^

If you want something special then a breitling with generic Swiss movement is not for you.
