New to the forum - in Toronto
Been interested in watches forever, growing up with a father as an antique dealer. I have a drawer of old watches of various makes, mostly 70's Seikos and a few other oddballs.
Anyhow, I've been lucky enough to have had a couple of Rolex watches over the years. I rescued a 1655 from my father's display at the shop and ended up selling it for 5x what he was asking for it once I had the chance to do some research on the model. While I wish I had kept it, the money went into retirement savings and has grown well beyond what the watch has appreciated in value. The latest find is a Tudor 9411, which appears to have been only worn a few times if ever. Looks to be new in the box.        And the 1655 just for fun. I sold it a long time back - perhaps 17 years or so ago. Sold it for around $5K US to a fellow in Italy back when the Canadian dollar wasn't worth much so I netted over CAD $7K for it. Just the body, no bracelet or box or papers.

Welcome that 1655 would be worth more today, but hey you got a reasonable price at the time.
