TT GMT1 Review
I just realized I have had my TT GMT a over a year so I thought I would give a review on it.
Last fall I desided I wanted a sport Rolex. I read on the forums that everyone was crazy over Subs. I had a SS sub many years ago and it was not my cup of tea. I do not dive plus I like more of a dressy watch, so I never thought I would ever want another sport Rolex. Well being lucky enough to afford buying another Rolex to wear as a casual watch, I desided I wanted a GMT. A few months before I bought a TT Ebel Meridian that was a GMT type watch, so I knew I liked the GMT function. I could not afford a new one so I looked to a used one. I knew a guy from the pen business who sold used Rolex so I contacted him and he had a sweet late 80's TT GMT with an Oyster bracelet. He sent it on approval. The watch had just been serviced and looked brand new. I jumped on it. I like this watch a lot but 3 months later I bought the new style TT DJ, so the GMT went into rotation with my DD, DJ and later my Maurice Lacroix. So this is kind of my "beater" Rolex. I wear it on my trips I go on and maybe wear it on weekends some. The watch keeps pretty good time for an older Rolex. It looses a couple of minutes a month which I can live with. I am not sure if I will keep it forever. I almost traded it a few months ago at Tourneau for a 18k dress watch. It was the store brand so I desided aginst it soley for the reason that I know a Rolex is worth more than a Tourneau brand watch. I am glad I didn't do the deal. I will hold off until the right trade comes along then I might flip it. I still want another all gold dress watch on a strap. I go back and fourth on getting rid of it. I am sure our friend JJ can appreciate that quality. I do have to say the quality of this watch is great and it is very comfortable to wear, even for a person with some what small wrist. I am also glad I went with two tone, as I am one of the people who is crazy about gold. I know most people on these forums prefer subs so the GMT is kind of an odd duck, especially in TT. But I have no regrets. Last edited by Mort; 21 January 2006 at 01:30 AM.. |

Nice review, Mort...thanks!
For pics, just go into www.photobucket.com and then download all your images there. After that, all you need to do is keep both windows open - TRF as well as Photobucket. You can copy and paste your pics from there. Have a bit of a fiddle around with photobucket and see how you get along. Cheers & good luck - JJ
