GMT Master 16750 at work...

Hey guys just wanted to share some pics of my new 6.6m GMT 16750 on the flight back yesterday from San Francisco..

Also wanted to ask the guys here who have owned vintage timepieces with patina if they have anything they do to protect the patina from getting lighter like not wear it in the Sun for too long etc etc.

Thanks for any advise given in keeping the vintage watches looking good.

Andy.

Very nice piece. Wear it in good health and donīt worry too much about the colour of the patina. It will go wherever it has to go, but always in a good direction!

Looking good! Yes, sun "bleaches patina" so if you want it dark you should avoid sharp sun.

Congrats Andy - that is a very nice example! I have the same concern on my recently added 16750. The patina is so dark and lovely, it likely sat in a drawer for years and now I wear it 4 days per week and feel it is already a shade lighter. Oh well...

Thanks guys for the replies... Do you know if the patina fades with direct UV onto dial or any time you are out in sunlight even in shade??? It sounds silly what im asking but because I fly for a living at high altitude UV is stronger and just wondering if that would accelerate the patina going light even in not direct sunlight...
