I am thinking of purchasing this Graff Diamond pen. I am curios as to what peoples thoughts are. Any reason why I should or shouldn't buy it? Will I get crushed on resale(don't plan on selling it). Price is $11,000.

I have never heard of Graff...what is that brand? Is this a store brand? I have a hard time believing a pen would go for that much... Keep in mid, if it's a diamond pen, you're paying for diamonds and gold vs. Pen technology....

Anyway, if you like it and can afford it, go for it. I personally would only spend money on a brand I could stand behind.

If you like the pen and it feels "Right" when you write with it.....then I say go for it. It definitely looks fantastic and has a positive "Presence" and I imagine not too many individuals own this particular pen...remember you only live once and our time here on earth is limited. So go ahead and treat yourself and enjoy using it no matter what others say!!!

Does the pen come in a Rollerball option or does it come in a Fountain pen version? If so I would recommend the Fountain pen model and if no, then go with a Rollerball version.....

Thanks for the reply. It does come in both Rollerball and Fountain. I am sure as you can see from my username I am in Real Estate. I plan on using this pen as my "contract signing pen." I think the Rollerball will be more practical for me....

Yes, I absolutely agree with the Rollerball pen since you will be using it in your work with clients. Most people do not have experience nor understand that when writing with a Fountain pen to not apply pressure. This in turn can result in a damaged nib and a costly repair/replacement of the nib. I do prefer Fountain pens for personal use but I also do not allow other to use them. As a thought find out if the cartridges for this Rollerball pen has a tendency to dry out quickly as many manufacturers' cartridges do(this is the usual complaint by many people). If so see if a Gel type refill will work in the pen as they do not dry out quickly/readily or keep a supply of Rollerball refill cartridges handy!!!

Where are the auctions? I am in no rush to buy the pen and if I am able to pick one up at an action at a significant discount I 100% would buy it.

Check out christie's and sotheby's ... even though there are buyer's premiums - new items just don't sell high compared to retail. one will pop up.
