Thoughts on this 1680? Fake insert?
Have the chance to pick this up locally, wanted to get the community's take on a couple of things. The case is in good shape, CGs could be a little less polished but I've seen a lot worse, dial and hands are original as well as the silver date disk. The insert has a little gold pip where the pearl used to be, which the jeweler can have removed for me before I take the watch.
My biggest concern is the identity and authenticity of the bezel insert. The 30 and 20 look like "super fat font" numbers, but the rest don't. I realize these pictures aren't great, but I'm curious to hear what people think. (The datewheel is misaligned, apparently there is a screw missing in the keyless that will be replaced before I take possession of it) |

Anyone? Thoughts? Ideas? Baseless speculation?

It looks ok to me from the pictures, but I'm sure the experts would like to see better pics especially the 40 & 50 for tell tale signs. There seems to b a chip at 5 o'clock.

1680, looks good from few scans. you have checked the case, movement and bracelet already. I think rest is Ok although you really have to handle and take bezel off to be 100% sure (fakes are so good today). If price is good I'd not hesitate. m

Don't think the insert is fake but photos are really small.

The insert actually looks pretty good, although hard to be 100 percent certain on authenticity. If everything else checks out, and the price is right, I wouldn't let that deter me. I'd be more worried about the movement and date wheel. See how the date is very low in the window? That might be an indication that the watch needs to be serviced. You could always track down another insert if it ends up being an issue. Good luck!

Thanks y'all! I pulled the trigger on it, couldn't pass up that cream patina and silver date wheel. Will post pics once it's in my hands.
