Breitling has so many amazing chronographs that are finished incredibly well, that this VC doesn't impress me. I've owned AP they aren't holy, they are just a watch that is finished well. I bought a RO at 17 with my own cash, believe me if it was awesome I would be shouting AP from the rooftops, vs saying eh and discounting a large investment.

IMO the YMII is horology, its cutting edge, its almost ground breaking in terms of the bezel/movement and people are discounting it as a normal watch because its a Rolex. Historically YMII is an important watch in terms of what it introduces.

Then lifting up this basically normal VC watch, with normal movement with a big date, and maybe a bit above average finishing and saying its horology because if its name. No offense if this is your watch, I just don't think you should blast the rolex for not having enough pedigree when this particular rolex is historic in terms of watchmaking.
I haven't noticed any widespread "blasting" of the YMII?

Discounting longevity and the fact that chronograph functions are ubiquitous against a new and yes impressive technical achievement that has limited practical application doesn't seem quite fair. JMHO

Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the uniqueness of a mechanical, programmable countdown timer, but if it has no application to my personal life, it's not likely to occupy my wrist, much less motivate me to save for one.
