How comfortable would you be buying from Hessfineauctions on Ebay?

There are a few scattered comments (all good) about them on TRF, but I want to hear more opinions. I understand this to be the same Hess that co-authored an "unofficial" Rolex book/encyclopedia, but the fact that they're not "authorized" dealers makes me a little uncomfortable. The auctions say they'll come with all the paperwork, etc., but how about warranty? If I need to get something fixed, I'll be SOL.

Dave if you're so uncertain about buying in the Internet, please visit an AD.

I am telling you dave,I am in jeff and katrina's shop every week.I see how they treat people who have any issues with their watch.they are stand-up people who would not just leave you s.o.l.
I would trust buying any watch from them at any price.

Dave:

I would also feel comfortable in buying from them. They have a solid reputation.

So I won this E-bay auction for this Explorer I at a much cheaper price than I had expected. I really didn't think I'd win, but now have mixed feelings. The fact that it went for this low makes me wonder if a lot of people knew something I didn't. It almost seems too good to be true, and you know what people say about that. I know HFA has a great reputation, but can anybody find ANYTHING shady about this watch at all that should make me hesitate? Appreciate all comments.

Also, I understand that I won't be getting Rolex's original warranty by buying it from a grey market dealer. Any thoughts on "HFA 1 yr warranty"?

$3.2k isn't too cheap. Another member here sold her F serial 114270 at ~$2.9k recently. Note that minor scratches can be easily buffed.

They are a reputable seller. You won the auction, so just send payment and enjoy your new watch.

that is the exact price I would have expected it to go for.you got a fine watch there,I hope you get it..
p.s. while I have never had anything I had to have fixed by them, they usually will honor their warranties even if it is a little past their one year mark.

I thought that was a very nice looking watch. It seems like it was well cared for by the looks and that it went for a fair price. I would definitely get it and wear it with pride that you got a nice deal. It claims to be unworn and it looks great for an F series which is a 2003/2004 model watch.

Enjoy the watch.
