New owner, long time admirer

Good day all!

I have been a Rolex fan forever. As a kid my friends dad drove a nice car and wore a Rolex, and coming from a poor family, I always imagined that being me one day.

3 years ago I got a decent bonus from and had quite a significant milestone at work promotion wise, and wanted to treat myself to a Rolex I had always admired. I did a lot of window shopping, and even looked through pre-owned online, but decided I wanted my first one to be new. Unfortunately, but smartly, I decided to pay some big bills off and put it off...

This year I earned some extra money at work, paid off all my open credit except for one car payment had some cash to spare. It was time! I did tons of research from afar and went into the AD on Saturday with an idea of what I wanted, the blue faced DJ II. It was in the price range I wanted to spend, and a beautiful specimen. However, I got a bit cheeky and tried on a Sub. It was awesome, but I didn't want the watch the majority of Rolex owners had, and that's when the salesman handed me the GMT Master II.

I grew up in England, have family there, work on Zulu time, and the watch fit my wrist like a dream, perfect. Now it is mine and its hard to take my eyes off it!

Sorry for the long story, but I feel like buying a Rolex was more than just getting a new watch, and I hope you guys can understand!

Thank you all.

Next Rolex purchase is going to be the wife's Christmas present, then next year a DJ II for me hopefully!

Thank you! I just wore it while I did the washing up, might be he first time I have done that chore with a smile on my face.
