Check out this description...

To bad because at $2500 it would have been a deal.

Many conversions out there. This here is a good example. My wife has a conversion ladies datejust that was converted to 18k and SS. Bought it 20 years ago at Dallas Gold and Silver. The model number on the head still indicates a SS model. Very common practice then, and today.

Remember, most people aren't as anal as most of us. They want a genuine Rolex and as cheap as possible. Many don't care about aftermarket bands or bezels. And most of these conversions are done with aftermarket replica parts, not bearing Rolex trademarks. Where they get in to trouble is placing replica Rolex parts on to the watches that bear counterfeit trademarks.

Analogy - there is nothing wrong with putting aftermarket parts in my Ford or Lexus, or Shelby parts on a Mustang GT, as it still is a Mustang. No matter how many Shelby parts you add, it will still be a Mustang GT, and never a real Shelby. Somebody might just like the "Shelby look" better than the Mustang GT look and didn't care to spend the extra funds and resources for a completely different car when he already owned the basis Mustang platform. We all know though, that they get into trouble when they try and pass that copy off as an original.

I wouldn't touch it - seems like a headache to sell down the road.

It's worth more than $2500. The parts to put it back to original would be about $1500 - used. Then you could sell the take-offs for $1000 to $1500. Not bad. Some people don't care about the bracelet or it being a conversion, they want a two tone sub for the least amount possible. If converted back to all stainless steel, you'd be into the sub for $2500 - $3000 tops. Not bad for a SS sub. This is all based on you getting the watch for $2500.

I think we're all looking for a deal...aren't we?

True! I would love to have a TT Sub, for this one it may be a hard sell if you don't want to keep it, it would be a keeper for me.

Edit - I just reread the description and I don't think I'd want it, too much into it from the conversion, I'd rather put $2500 towards a SS Sub.
