New Guy
Good day everyone,
I am looking to purchase my first Rolex within the next few weeks. I live in the Atlanta area and I am crazy about watches. I currently own a Tag Carrera, Tissot Seastar, Seiko Arctura, Reactor Critical Mass, and a few others. I really like the Blue Face, Steel and Gold Sub, and the Sea-Dweller. Not sure if I should buy brand new or pre-owned. Any suggestions?? |

Welcome Sam,
I would suggest that for your first Rolex that you buy a brand new one. This way, you will have for sure a good first time experience with the brand and know what to expect when you might later decide to buy one used. I would suggest the Sea-Dweller or TT Sub depending upon your preferences. You can't go wrong

Sam,
Welcome to TRF. What part of ATL are you from if you don't mind sharing? My wife and I are originally from the area. John

Well Sam, I'm relatively new to the Rolex game myself. I only own the one. My suggestion, is to go out to an AD and buy yourself a brand new SD. Pay cash, asking for a cash discount and have it shipped out of state to a friend/family to save on taxes.
Once you see your Rolex you can see the quality and go on the hunt for a used TT Blue Sub (aka, bluesy). You can save a ton of money on a used bluesy, but I agree with others. You should buy your first Rolex NEWNEWNEW. You'll save more money buying a used TT Sub and a used SD most likely.

Welcome to TRF. Buy what smiles back at you as you smile at it. The only way to do this is to go to an AD and try many on. You will find one that you love and it will be yours.
