My new 5167...

After several long months, a business deal I had been working on finally closed. It took a little convincing, but my wife let me celebrate by allowing me to get a new watch.... my first Patek... 5167.

I had been a "Rolex guy", but wanted something a little different and actually a little more "under the radar" where most folks won't really notice it. So far I LOVE this watch. I know it isn't for everyone, but it is perfect for me as a daily watch.... which I have already broken it in with some desk diving swirlies Definitely looking forward to many adventures with this watch.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share my excitement....

Congrats on the reward and the deal that let it happen! It's one of the most beloved Pateks on the forum.
So how do you feel about Rolex now? Are you officially a Patek guy? I find myself wanting another Rolex after not having one for over a year since I got my Nautilus. Many here love both. You?

thank you everyone. spent the weekend with the watch doing some PSIA skiing clinics and watching my daughter ski race while wearing the new watch. my sport watch for an active lifestyle!

as for my Rolexes I sold them (per a longstanding rule from my wife where if i need to sell some "toys" before getting new "toys").... so aside from a Timex triathlon running watch, this is my "one and only do everything" watch.

i do want to pick up another Rolex.... most likely a vintage 1016 birth year watch.... but i'll wait till i hit another significant milestone. but for now, i am enjoying the 5167.

Wise move. Rolex is second rate when it comes to Patek !!
