too much on my plate

I was almost scammed tonight!
I have three watch deals going on right now,and only have about two or three hours a night to work on the computer-so I am cutting corners left and right to stay ahead of the game-well it almost cost me big time!so between e-mails I was quickly thumbing thru the tz listings to see what stuff was listed at today and saw a very good price on a gmtII M series.well I called the guy and made a deal-sent him a deposit and was going to send the wire in the morning.
well I was starting to get to aggressive and went ahead and listed it and figured if I had any bites I would just tell them I could not send for a few days and give me enough time to get it checked out at my AD,well the damn thing sold in a matter of minutes!I hadnt even gotten any replies to the original sellers references but I took a deposit to hold it just I had done to secure it three hours earlier.
to make a long story short I get a message that the pictures I had posted looked like a fellow trfers from a couple of months ago-searched ,and low and behold they are one in the same!!next I get one of the references back ,and low and behold-they dont know who I am talking about!!
now I am looking like a gosh darn idiot selling a watch that I dont have and I believe is a total scam!
this guy is in canada-name is robert b. razavi has listings under whatuwatch, sent me invoices in two other names later on in the night by accident I beleive.this guy is a total classic.
so now I had to refund a deposit-explain what happened and file a cash back in the couple hours I had to find two vintage watches for another customer!
just wanted to give a quick run down of what happened and to warn everyone to watch-out for some scammer in canada selling stolen pictures for 4k.

Steve, I saw that on the Zone Sales Corner today as well, and thought that price was too good to be true.. At least you did not take it any further. Does he have any other postings??

Thank god you caught it early enough not to be out any money. If these guys spent as much time as they do...trying to scam people...into a legit business.......they'd be rich!

Good heads up!!!

toatlly,we saved quite a few people some money john,I have six e-mails from people thanking us for posting the info on tz,they where all about to send the money today as well.
here is a copy of one:

Steven,

I wanted to express my gratitude for saving $3,500 of my money which I would have wired to Canada this morning has it not been for your watchful eye and desire to warn others. Your reply to whatyouwatch's sale ad for Rolex GMT II is what stopped me. The price was too good which was suspicious and somehow he presented pretty strong references on watchnet.com good guys forum and I do believe that I was probably the first to respond to his ad. Those things led me to believe him. Again, if it was not for you I would have been scammed by him.

I truly appreciate your involvement. You are a great asset to TZ community and my personal savior!

Best regards,
Alex

Great work, Steve. I want to add my voice to those who are saying how much we appreciate your knowledge and your vigilance on behalf of the greater good. You are one of the cool "good guys."

Sorry to sound like such a sap, but there it is.
