116610LN from Watches GMT in Barcelona
Hi,
Brand new here, so apologies for the any stupid questions :) I am currently in Barcelona, and saw these two listed by a local dealer: From 2014, listed at EUR 6.600 http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/sub...-id4604342.htm or New from 2016, listed at EUR 7.150 http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/sub...-id4612099.htm So now to the questions, as this will be my first Rolex. 1. Any known issues or red flags with this dealer? 2. Which one is the better buy, and at what price? New in Denmark, where I am from, is around EUR 8.150, and here in Spain it is about EUR 7.850. Any other advice is very welcome. Thanks! |

Hi and welcome to Spain, especially Barcelona, awarded best city in the world.
The photos are clear, but do not show the clear aspects of the rehaut, that said both watches look genuine. Barcelona is a very honest city, and buying from a "bricks and mortar" shop is pretty safe Which is better bargain? Well one is brand new, the other worn, but in good looking condition - you may wish to ask for clearer photos of clasp and bracelet to see any scratches or markings. Ask if sapphire, bezel or case has any dings or scratches, also ask them to clearly state all these points and if serial number on watch is same as warranty card. Warranty follows the watch, so you still have Rolex cover3 years I hope that may help, OH! and this is Spain - haggle on the price!! Disfruta Hasta Luego Adam |

If it is between those two, I'd go for the 2016, especially if you can negotiate the price down. It is new, and appears to have the normal date magnification on the cyclops/crystal.
The one on the 2014 looks like it came from the batch of lower-mag cyclops crystals that some watches were assembled with previously. |

Adam, I'd be very careful in categorizing any city as "honest and safe" in this subject. I personally have done business with this particular seller and let's just say that the watch wasn't what he said it is. It ran badly and it was clearly dropped since there was a big dent on the bezel. Also some of the papers were missing. This was a few years ago and by the comments on another forum, I'm not the only one with similar experiences.
